Elizabeth (Alex) Schlesener

PhD Candidate in Human Centered Computing | MFA Digital Production Arts ('21) | Clemson, SC

Hello! My name is Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Alex. I am a highly ambitious graduate student pursuing a PhD in Human Centered Computing at Clemson University.

As a member of Clemson's Virtual Environments Group (VEG), my research revolves around the creation and implementation of virtual humans. More specifically, the usage of AI-driven Embodied Conversational Agents (ECAs) in various user-centered applications. So far, my work has been funded by the BMW Group, U.S. National Science Foundation, and Prisma Health.

In May of 2021, I received my Master of Fine Arts in Digital Production Arts at Clemson University. I offer a wide range of knowledge in the 3D Arts, with specializations in texturing, surfacing, sculpting, modeling, and lighting. I am also highly proficient in a variety of programs, including: Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, ZBrush, Mari, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, and Adobe Suite products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.). Additionally, I have ample experience with a number of coding languages, such as C#, C++, Python, Java, JSON, and HTML.

I am also the lead 3D Designer at DropsAR, where our team creates custom, web-based AR experiences for smartphone devices.
