Projects & Experience
PhD Candidate in Human Centered Computing | MFA Digital Production Arts ('21)
Graduate Research Assistantship (2024)
Funded by the BMW Group.
During this time, I built a robust virtual agent platform which features various LLM-driven conversational agents.
Programs: Unity, SALSA Lipsync, Maya, Mixamo, OpenAI and C#.
Graduate Research Assistantship (2023-24)
Funded by National Science Foundation.
This mental health (MHealth) smartphone application, AirHeart, features an ECA who walks users through eight different cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) modules. Users customize their ECA mental health coach using Ready Player Me.
Programs: Unity, SALSA Lipsync, Autodesk Character Generator, Mixamo, Flask, Python, HTML, CSS and C#.
Graduate Research Assistantship (2021-23)
Funded by Prisma Health.
This mobile health (mHealth) smartphone application, iHeartU, contains an Embodied Conversational Agent (ECA). Using IBM Watson technology, the ECA nurse leads the user through a provided clinical questionnaire. All patient answers are automatically uploaded to a server, where the patient’s provider at Prisma Health can facilitate remote monitoring. The application will be used in a wide variety of studies, including respiratory distress, heart failure, and mental health.
In Summer of 2023, I removed IBM Watson from the application and re-constructed the dialogue system using a combination of text-to-speech (TTS) and speech-to-text (STT) engines. YarnSpinner and UnityNLP were used to create a dynamic, localized AI-driven dialogue system.
Programs: Unity, SALSA Lipsync, IBM Watson Assistant, UnityNLP, YarnSpinner, Autodesk Character Generator, Mixamo, Flask, Python, HTML, CSS and C#.
Graduate Student Researcher (2020-21)
Funded by Adobe.
Through this Graduate Research Assistant within the Clemson University School of Computing, I worked with the Human Centered Computing Department on a Virtual Humans VR study in Unreal Engine. This project incorporated a combination of modeling, texturing, and rigging to create photo-realistic virtual humans.
Programs: Unreal Engine, Maya (HumanIK, XGen), Mixamo, Mari, Photoshop, C++ and ZBrush.
